Controller and contact
Aqualynx is provided by M.M.Labs. For requests about privacy, personal data, or licences, contact mmlabs@purelymail.com.
Data we process
- Email address and account identifiers required for authentication and synchronisation.
- User-created content, including aquariums, images, water tests, maintenance records, reminders, and preferences.
- Technical and diagnostic information needed for security, stability, and app improvement.
- Subscription information provided by the app stores, without access to complete payment details.
Advertising and Google AdMob
- On the Free plan, Aqualynx may show banner ads through Google AdMob / Google Mobile Ads SDK.
- When an ad is requested, Google may process IP address, device or advertising identifiers, app and ad interactions, viewed advertising data, crash logs, performance data, and other diagnostic information.
- This data is used for ad delivery and measurement, analytics, fraud prevention, security, and performance improvement. Data is transmitted with encryption in transit.
- Advertising preferences can be managed in device settings; Pro and Ultimate remove in-app ad placements.
Why we process data
- To create and manage accounts and synchronise data requested by the user.
- To provide app features, reminders, support, and subscription access.
- To prevent abuse, fix errors, and improve reliability and performance.
Legal basis for processing
- Account, synchronisation, subscriptions, backups, and support are processed because they are necessary to provide the requested service.
- Security, abuse prevention, technical diagnostics, and reliability improvements are based on the legitimate interest of keeping the app safe and working.
- Some data may be retained to meet legal, tax, accounting, complaint-handling, or fraud-prevention obligations.
- Where consent is required by law, such as for device permissions or advertising choices, you can withdraw it in app or device settings.
Retention period
- Account data and synchronised content remain available while the account is active or until the user deletes them.
- Local data remains on the device until you delete it in the app, uninstall the app, or reset the device; exported backups remain under your control.
- Purchase and subscription information is retained under the rules of the stores, RevenueCat, and applicable legal obligations.
- Technical, diagnostic, and crash data is retained only as long as needed for security and issue resolution, normally no longer than 90 days unless legal or security needs require more.
Diagnostics and crash reporting
- If EXPO_PUBLIC_SENTRY_DSN is configured, Aqualynx may send crash and technical diagnostic events to Sentry, such as platform, app version, technical stack, app area, and a non-personal Support ID.
- Crash reporting and bug reports intentionally exclude email, Firebase UID, photos, aquarium parameters, and other sensitive user-created content.
- Manual reports send only the text written by the user and minimal technical context useful for support.
- This data is used for security, stability, and bug fixing, not for data sale or advertising.
Services, retention, and sharing
Aqualynx uses providers required to operate the app, including Firebase for authentication, storage, and synchronisation, and the Apple App Store or Google Play for subscriptions. Personal data is not sold. Data is retained for as long as needed to provide the service or meet applicable obligations. We also use RevenueCat to manage and validate subscriptions, which processes your account identifier and purchase data, and Google Sign-In and Apple Sign-In for authentication. Some providers (e.g. Google) may process data outside your region with appropriate safeguards.
Choices, rights, and deletion
You can edit or remove local data in the app and request access, correction, or deletion of data associated with your account. Some information may be retained where required by law or necessary for security and fraud prevention.
